Stockholm Syndrome

Published by AdhocDr at 11:34 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Stockholm Syndrome is psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. Stockholm syndrome is also sometimes discussed in reference to other situations with similar tensions, such as battered person syndrome, rape cases, child abuse cases and bride kidnapping.

How to spot a Stockholm Syndrome Man?
  • Give him the waitress test. Does he complain, torment and generally treat service staff like dirt?
  • What about his ex? Does he tell stories about a mad, angry, stupid or ungrateful woman?
  • Does he give reassurances that you didn’t ask for? For example, that he never gets drunk or would never actually hit a woman?
  • Is he proud od nad behaviour? For example, claiming to be “butt kicker” at work or doing “crazy” things like hanging outside a girl’s apartment all night.
  • What about his friends? Stockholm Syndrome Men have only acquaintances or a handful of friends who are just like him.
